Impact of technological convergence essay

no more than 300 words: impact on 3 of those sectors - video games, film, TV
fragmented audience
death of the scheduled Sonya living stone

How has it impacted the video games sector: technological convergence has made video games more exsesable, reliable and faster. with video games being able to go online i believe gaming became more sociable as you can talk to people all over the world through chat or with mikes. technological convergence has cause better quality graphics, more advanced game play. It has combined multiple consoles into one for example a PlayStation 5 is multi functional.

How has it impacted the film sector: due to technological convergence film is allot more easily accessible by streaming content it has become allot less of an event to go out and watch a film in cinema as you can watch it at home in your own time by yourself, with friends or family making the experience less social. streaming sometimes does cause the exclusion of digital immigrants as they find it too difficult or 'strange' to watch a film on something other than a TV (on a TV channel) or watch a movie in cinema.

How has it impacted the TV sector: TV is no longer a communal or family event as you can pick what and were you want to watch more easily. So instead of watching the scheduled show only shown on Friday on your only devise (TV) on the only four channels broadcaster's (BBC1, BBC2 , ITV, channel4) with 'the hole family', a family can chose to watch what they want when they want on their own devices for example the kids can stream what they want to watch on their own devises and the parent can watch their favorite recorded show on TV. TV has also adapted so shows can be pre-recorded so that you can watch content on your own time and skip the adds by fast forwarding. The main change to TV content is streaming content on platforms such as Disney+, Netflix, amazon, HBO max.

- less social
- exclusion of digital immigrants
- more choice
- people can choose to have more niche interests
