LO3 editing

 

Editing involves: transitions - how we go from one shot to another (cut),  improvement and changes of errors whilst filming, cross cutting , SFX/ CGI, arranging footage to create a narrative.

'post production techniques'

continuity editing - editing that creates a narrative for the audience to understand, it appears invisible.

Shot reverse shot structure -juxtapose two images in order to create a link between them : in conversations, H.p v A, good v evil. h.p v h.p teamwork. A v A teamwork.

Action match - 1 action over more than 2 shots (create spectacle) 

Cross cutting - going from one location and cutting to a second location giving the impression of meanwhile

Insert shot - starts with a wide shot cuts to a closeup, usually of a prop. - highlighting importance - iconography.

Eye line match - character looking off cut to what there looking at, to create empathy.




ideal self/ ideal partner (cares Rodgers 1980) - Rolle model - attractive

post feminism - wave of women that are no longer seen as week but strong and powerful

post colonialism - people of colour in a place of power/ authority/ responsibility 

progressive - challenged stereotype 

patriarcal society
